Overall Summary

 

Stagnant trough over the area at the end of spring/beginning of summer.  Thunderstorms developed along this SE/NW oriented trough around midnight (430UTC -456UTC) with peak intensity over the Sarasota area with frequent, abundant cloud-to-ground lightning.

Shows thunderstorm moving in from the southeast around midnight along the stalled trough.  Storm impacted the area for a half an hour with over 400 lightning strikes recorded during the thunderstorm.  The storm reached a maximum reflectivity of 61dBZ @ 440UTC.
